Health and Safety Manager

HSE Recruitment are proud to be partnering with a Logistics and Distribution company who are looking for a Health & Safety Manager, based out of their site in Worcester.

This role will also support one other site in London around 20% of the time so there is an element of travel expected with this role. Worcester is the largest site in the group with 300 employees working here. This is a brand new state of the art factory with the risks you would expect in a busy logistics and warehouse environment. There are challenges with safety over peak times (Easter, Black Friday, Christmas etc.) so one challenge within this role, is establishing robust practices during this period and using down time to train, coach and mentor the staff.

Background and experience-

• Someone from a fast paced logistics, distribution, warehouse background would be ideal but we are open to people from transferable risk profiles such as manufacturing. What’s key is fast paced.
• Qualification level required is- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent as a minimum
• This role would suit an established Manager or an Advisor ready to take a step into their first Manager role.

Person-

• We are a solutions-focused team that understands operational needs/frustrations/challenges to provide the best service.
• Good communication and discussion but also requires independence in their thinking and rationale etc.
• A get-it-done mentality—likes discussion, ideas, planning, etc., but also wants to get it over the line.
• Fast-paced and ever-changing environment (change cannot frustrate them).
• Can’t be afraid of doing new things or testing out new ways of working.
• Always looking at ways we can improve what we do – processes, efficiency, cost-saving, service etc.

Salary is negotiable, plus includes a £6,600 car allowance.
