An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to lead a high-profile construction project in Somerset. This is a chance to join an ambitious organisation delivering landmark schemes that shape local communities.
The contractor is in search for a Project Manager who can confidently steer a complex project from early phases through to completion, ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to exceptional quality standards.
The Opportunity As Project Manager, you’ll take full ownership of project delivery across planning, design, procurement, construction, and handover. With demolition and enabling works already underway, this is the perfect time to step in and drive the next major phase. You’ll be supported by an established site team and a fully procured supply chain, giving you immediate momentum.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the full lifecycle of the scheme, delivering on time, on budget, and to required standards.
- Champion safety, quality, and compliance across all stages.
- Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Monitor progress, resolve challenges, and implement improvements.
- Oversee project reporting, financial control, cost management, and risk mitigation.
- Provide leadership to site teams, maintaining alignment through regular meetings.
- Manage procurement, subcontractor coordination, and on-site performance.
About You- Proven experience delivering large-scale construction projects in a main-contracting environment.
- Strong understanding of industry contract conditions and public-sector frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex schemes.
- Strong commercial awareness and financial management skills.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership qualities.
- Construction-related qualifications (degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
- SMSTS, First Aid at Work, and CSCS Manager certifications.
