The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer with specialised skills in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving electrical and automation systems in an industrial setting. The role will consist of ensuring the safety and efficient operation of all electrical assets across all sites are carried out including any electrical work as required.
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of Servo Motor Systems including tuning and programming, execute component replacements or repairs to uphold precise motion control standards
- Oversee the maintenance repair and troubleshooting of 3-phase AC and DC motors and their control systems, handling motor installations, wiring and connections
- Manage encoders and feedback systems for optimal position and speed control. Conduct troubleshooting and replacements needed
- Assemble and wire electrical panels in accordance with schematics and wiring diagrams, ensuring compliance with safety records
- Carry out both preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide range of electrical and automation equipment
- Maintain comprehensive record of all maintenance activities, adjustments to PLC/HMI systems, and updates to electrical schematics and panel layouts
- Work closely with Engineering and production teams and offer technical support when needed
The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of servo motor systems, 3-phase AC/DC motors, encoders, feedback systems, panel building, and wiring, along with a strong foundation in PLC/HMI troubleshooting. This role demands a high level of precision, expertise in motion control, and a commitment to ensuring equipment reliability and performance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workshop
- Flexibility to work in shifts and respond tasks that may require climbing, lifting and working in confined spaces
- A driving license is necessary
- A cherry picker license would be an advantage but not necessary
- Programming experience would be an advantage but not necessary
